Free Appalachian Music Performances and Ranger Talks in the National Park

Glen Jean, WV - Staff at New River Gorge National Park and Preserve invite the public to experience the rich musical traditions of Appalachia at a special event on Sunday, September 28, at the Cliffside Amphitheater at Grandview. This free event will feature live performances by local bands and interpretive talks by park rangers, offering a unique opportunity to connect with the cultural heritage of the region.

The event will begin at 12:30 pm. with a ranger-led introduction exploring the roots and significance of Appalachian music in the New River Gorge area. Musical performances will follow throughout the afternoon, beginning with Long Point String Band from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, followed by Bronco Junction from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, and concluding with Woodbine from 3:00 to 4:00 pm.

This event is part of the park's ongoing efforts to celebrate and preserve the diverse cultural traditions that have shaped the Appalachian region.
