This week, Ambassador Martin Selmayr made his introductory visit as EU Ambassador in Rome to ICCROM, the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property. This important international organisation in Rome is a close partner for the EU and its Member States.

The EU supports ICCROM in training Ukraine's first national team of cultural first aiders at the frontlines of the widespread destruction of heritage during the ongoing war in Ukraine. It was a great pleasure to meet with ICCROM's energetic Director-General Aruna F. M. Gujral and to get to know her committed team and their valuable work in the interest of multilateralism and our global cultural heritage.
