On September 25, in New York, in the margins of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated and delivered remarks at the High Level Meeting of the UN General Assembly to Commemorate the 30th anniversary of the World Programme of Action for Youth.
In his remarks, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia stressed the importance of initiatives aimed at empowering youth, emphasizing that young people are the driving force of sustainable development, peace, and resilience.
Touching upon Armenia's commitments, Robert Abisoghomonyan briefed on the comprehensive strategy of the Republic of Armenia's youth policy, highlighting its guiding principle of inclusiveness,which seeks to ensure the full participation of young people in all spheres of public life and at every level of decision-making.
As part of the meeting, a panel discussion entitled "Full, Effective and Meaningful Youth Participation, at National and International Levels, for the Benefit of Current and Future Generations" was held with the participation of Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan, who delivered remarks.
During the discussion, the Deputy Foreign Minister outlined Armenia's experience in ensuring more systematic and impactful youth participation, highlighting the achievements made in the area. In this context, the cooperation between local youth associations and government institutions was touched upon, which has promoted the involvement of young people in decision-making processes at both the state and local levels.
Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan underlined the importance of international cooperation in advancing and broadening the youth empowerment agenda. The importance of active youth involvement at the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) to be held in Armenia in 2026 was emphasized, particularly in the decision-making process.
