JEROME - The Idaho Transportation Department is finishing up installation of a new traffic signal at the intersection of U.S. Highway 93 and State Highway 25 in Jerome on Wednesday and Thursday.
Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction on both US-93 and SH-25 while the poles are being installed this week. Motorists should expect flagging operations and up to 20-minute delays in the area.
This work marks the final task for the installation, with the signal expected to become active in February. Advanced warning signs preceding the intersection are also being placed.
Motorists should expect some delays once the signal is active and the timing is further adjusted throughout the future. Drivers should allow extra time to get to their destinations during the adjustment period.
ITD has been working on this traffic signal installation since late 2024 and completed all work but pole installation late last year. Pole placement has been underway over the last two weeks. This traffic signal will decrease the severity of crashes at the intersection and help vehicles safely turn left and right.
