POCA, W.Va. - Today, U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) traveled to Poca, W.Va. to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony at the newly renovated Waterways Industrial Park facility by Advantage Valley. Centuri Ground Support, a new joint venture between Sandvik and Alpha Metallurgical Resources, will invest $25 million to establish a mining equipment manufacturing operation at the site, creating between 120 and 150 new jobs.

"Today's ribbon cutting marks an exciting new chapter for the Waterways Industrial Park and for Putnam County. Centuri Ground Support's investment and commitment to creating new, good paying jobs is exactly the type of economic growth we need in West Virginia," Senator Capito said. "By revitalizing this facility and attracting new manufacturing opportunities, we are strengthening our local economy, supporting energy generation, and demonstrating that West Virginia is a great place to expand manufacturing."

"When we first took over the building, it was not a marketable industrial space," Terrell Ellis, Advantage Valley's President & CEO, said. "With the help of our partners, we have transformed this facility from the ground up into a site ready for development and industrial investment. While West Virginia's topography can sometimes present challenges in business attraction, Advantage Valley's focus has been on creating competitive, site-ready locations that help us better market the region despite those challenges. We have worked intentionally to market the region, strengthen site development opportunities, and create an environment where companies can move projects forward quickly and successfully. This project is a success story for what regional collaboration and strategic site development can accomplish."
