MONCKS CORNER, S.C. - Santee Cooper is launching a new program to help reduce barriers to energy efficiency for customers with high-energy burdens. Called Power Partners, the program will feature workshops, energy assessments, and free home energy-efficiency improvements for eligible residential customers. The initial phase will focus on specific neighborhoods in Conway, with plans to expand the program in the future.
Power Partners offers home energy assessments by a qualified technician, who will identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, including LED lighting, weather stripping and faucet aerators and provide those measures free of charge to eligible customers. Power Partners also provides energy education to help households adopt long-term energy-saving habits. By making energy-efficiency improvements more accessible, the program helps reduce power costs for customers while promoting a sustainable, energy-conscious community.
"Santee Cooper is committed to ensuring all of our customers have access to affordable, reliable and sustainable energy," said Vicky Budreau, Chief Customer Officer. "By offering education and free energy-efficiency upgrades to households that may already be struggling to pay monthly bills, we hope to help these customers reduce their energy expenses and improve their overall quality of life."
Through energy-efficiency improvements, Power Partners also can help lower overall energy consumption and reduce strain on electric infrastructure, benefiting all customers. This initiative will help build a more resilient, sustainable energy system.
