DeLauro: “Trump is cashing in on his Iran War while Americans pay more at the pump”

Today, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) responded to reports that President Donald Trump's oil stock holdings have gained millions in value since he launched the Iran War. Over the weekend, President Trump boasted about the profits the U.S. oil and gas industry have reaped while Americans pay painfully high prices at the pump.

"President Trump bragged this weekend about how much money oil and gas corporations are making. What he left out is that his own oil and gas holdings nearly doubled in value since he started his war of choice with Iran: from $12.6 million to $46 million at the end of 2025, to between $22.5 and $81.6 million today.

"While Americans pay more at the pump because of a war President Trump started - a war with no clear strategic goal and no plan to end - giant corporations and their investors, like President Trump, are cashing in.

"The American people will not tolerate a government that manufactures global chaos and then sends them the bill. President Trump is lining his own pockets and those of his billionaire friends at the expense of millions of working families. His gains must be investigated, and we must bring an end to the Iran War to finally bring down the price of oil."

Earlier today, DeLauro held a press conference in New Haven highlighting the high price of gas and diesel. You can watch the press conference here.
