European Union Hosts 'Flavours Uncorked' Networking Event to Elevate Gourmet Culture in India

The immersive event, part of the EU's "More Than Food" campaign, brought together 20 prominent industry leaders from India's hospitality, influencer, and media sectors for an evening of networking, education, and indulgence.

Showcasing Europe's Finest

Led by India's first Master of Wine, Sonal C. Holland, the event provided an intimate exploration of premium European wines and cheeses, featuring six expertly paired selections from eight EU member states. Attendees explored the rich heritage, quality, and sustainability behind these iconic European products. The event also introduced participants to the EU's quality schemes, including Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI).

Engaging and Interactive Format

The highlight of the evening was the Wine Bingo game, an innovative and interactive approach to deepening the understanding of European pairings. Attendees, ranging from sommeliers and chefs to importers and influencers, tested their knowledge while enjoying curated tastings. This engaging format left participants inspired and enriched their understanding of European wine and cheese pairings.

Strengthening Ties and Insights

Keynote remarks by Mr Pawel Stachowiak, Counsellor for Trade and Economic Affairs at the EU Delegation to India, highlighted the strategic value of connecting European culinary traditions with India's growing gourmet culture. The discussions highlighted India's growing demand for high-quality international products, fueled by rising incomes and a taste for global flavors.

The event featured a thoughtfully curated giveaway hamper, including premium European wines and cheeses, ensuring that attendees took home a taste of Europe. Feedback from participants underscored the event's success, with 100% expressing deeper knowledge of EU products and willingness to purchase more European food and beverages.
