TOKYO, October 30, 2025 - FUJIFILM Corporation has announced plans to open "NURA" health screening center, focusing on cancer screening, in four major cities across ASEAN: Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Bangkok (Thailand), Manila (Philippines), and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). The new center in Vietnam is scheduled to open on November 3, while the centers in Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia are scheduled to open during fiscal year 2025.
In Southeast Asia, including ASEAN countries, non-communicable diseases such as cancer, ischemic heart disease, and diabetes have a significant impact on public health and socio-economic development, accounting for 55% of all deaths. The annual number of deaths from these diseases is approximately 9.5 million, with half occurring in people under the age of 70*1. Early detection and appropriate treatment or health guidance can help reduce mortality and the risk of serious illness. However, comprehensive health screening facilities, including cancer screening, remain limited in Southeast Asia, and the culture of regular health screening is yet to be established.
This time, Fujifilm has decided to open NURA health screening centers in four ASEAN countries: Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia. The new center in Vietnam will be the second location in the country, following the Hanoi center opened in July last year. As with the Hanoi center, it will be operated by VIETNAM JAPAN HEALTH TECHNOLOGY JOINT STOCK COMPANY (VJH), which runs the T-Matsuoka Medical Center in Vietnam, with support from Fujifilm, and will offer services including cancer screening and testing for lifestyle-related diseases. The new centers in Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia are scheduled to open as Fujifilm directly operated health screening centers. By expanding NURA in these four ASEAN countries, Fujifilm aims to contribute to improving the quality of healthcare in the Southeast Asia region.
