Community Comes Together for Prosperity Village Cottage Homes' First Back-to-School Bash

Palm Beach County Community Services was proud to host the inaugural Prosperity Village Cottage Homes Back-to-School Bash, bringing together residents for a day of fun, connection, and back-to-school preparation.

Held at the Prosperity Village Cottage Homes Clubhouse, located at 4531 Clemens Street in Lake Worth, the event welcomed resident families to pick up free backpacks, generously provided by the Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County. Families also enjoyed lunch, live music, children's activities, and other family-friendly entertainment. Palm Beach County Youth Services was on hand to share information about its wide range of programs, including free child and family counseling services.

During the event, Deputy Director Keith Clinkscale delivered an inspiring message about the meaning behind Prosperity Village Cottage Homes:

• Prosperity is about more than financial success ; it is about growing in purpose, opportunity, health, education, relationships, and hope.

• Village reminds us that no one succeeds alone. It takes neighbors, mentors, organizations, and a caring community working together to lift one another up.

• Cottage may represent a modest home today, but it can also serve as the foundation upon which dreams are built tomorrow.

• Home is more than four walls. It is where confidence is restored, children dream bigger, families heal, and futures are rewritten.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the Palm Beach County Community Services Department team , Doris Davis, Paula Bastidas, Keith Chambers, Stephon Gordon, Angela Cruz, and the Public Information team , as well as the Palm Beach County Youth Services Department, for helping make the event a success.

Special thanks also go to our incredible community partners, who generously donated their time, expertise, food, school supplies, backpacks, and encouragement to support our families. Signature Barber Academy provided free haircuts for residents, while Worm the Deejay kept the energy high with music and entertainment throughout the afternoon.

Together, we are building healthier communities, supporting student success, and ensuring families have access to the resources they need to thrive. This event was more than preparing students for the first day of school ; it was an investment in brighter futures.

Prosperity Village Cottage Homes is a transitional housing community featuring 17 single-family homes and a community clubhouse. The community is dedicated to helping families achieve self-sustainability while working toward the goal of permanent homeownership.
