CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (May 5, 2026) - Charlotte County Economic Development has released its latest Homefront Hero feature highlighting Jonathan Varner, an Army veteran, husband, father and insurance professional whose story reflects the strength of Charlotte County's veteran workforce.

Varner's journey from military service to civilian leadership shows how veterans are finding purpose, careers and community in Charlotte County. After serving in the Army, Varner returned home and built a life rooted in family, service and professional growth. Today, he is part of Wampler Varner Insurance Group, where his military experience continues to shape the way he leads, serves clients and supports his community.

The Homefront Hero series was created to spotlight veterans who are contributing to Charlotte County's economy, workforce and quality of life. Varner's story connects directly to the county's broader effort to show why Charlotte County is a strong place for veterans to live, work and build their next chapter after service.

"Veterans bring leadership, discipline and problem-solving skills that strengthen our workforce and our business community," said Kay Tracy, director of Charlotte County Economic Development. "Jonathan's story is a powerful example of how military experience can translate into civilian success right here in Charlotte County."

Charlotte County is recognized as a Purple Heart Community and is home to a strong veteran population.
