CANYON, Texas - Buffs marking milestone graduation anniversaries are invited to celebrate June 11 with the West Texas A&M University Alumni Association.

Alumni who earned their degrees 50 or more years ago will celebrate at the Golden and Diamond Buff Reunion on June 11.

The reunion will celebrate all alumni classes from 1976 and earlier, with special recognition for the class of 1976's 50th anniversary and the class of 1966's 60th anniversary.

Deadline to register is June 4. Entry fee is by donation at wtamu.edu/goldendiamond.

"We are look forward to welcoming back our Golden and Diamond Buffs back to the University they helped build," said Ronnie Hall, executive director of the WT Alumni Association. "It's especially meaningful that this year's reunion coincides with the June 11-12 new student orientation weekend, allowing our newest Buffs to begin their journey alongside those who helped build the legacy they are now joining."

The day's events will include a meet-and-greet at 10 a.m. in Legends Club in the Jack B. Kelley Student Center; lunch with President Walter V. Wendler; conversations with student leaders; tours of the newly restored Geneva Schaeffer Education Building; and more.

Maintaining strong community and alumni ties is a component of the University's long-range plan, WT 125: From the Panhandle to the World.

That plan is fueled by the One West comprehensive fundraising campaign, which raised more than $200 million dollars, the largest such campaign in Texas Panhandle history.
