Chinese Ambassador to Liberia Yin Chengwu Attends China Medical Team Farewell and Welcoming Ceremony and Handover Ceremony of Medical Supplies Donated by the Chinese Embassy

On March 27, Ambassador Yin Chengwu attended the farewell and welcoming ceremony for the China Medical Team hosted by the Liberian Ministry of Health, along with the handover ceremony of medical supplies donated by the Chinese Embassy to the Ministry of Health. Over 100 people attended the event, including Liberian Minister of Health Dr. Louise M. Kpoto, Jin Jian, members of the 17th and 18th China Medical Teams, the John F. Kennedy Medical Center, the Medical and Dental Council, and the Liberia-China Friendship Organization.

Ambassador Yin expressed appreciation for the contributions of the 17th China Medical Team and welcomed the 18th team to Liberia. He emphasized that medical and health cooperation is an important part of China-Liberia bilateral relations, and expressed China's readiness to work with Liberia to build a global community of health for all. He also handed over medical supplies, which will be used to improve maternal and child health and safety at the grassroots level in Liberia.

Minister Kpoto thanked China for its continued support and underscored the significance of China's sustained assistance to Liberia's health system, which covers areas such as health infrastructure development, capacity building, and the supply of essential medical materials.
