REVISED: Various overnight closures in Jackson County for sign replacements, Aug. 17-21

JACKSON COUNTY - The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting various evening and overnight lane and ramp closures throughout Jackson County for signage replacement operations. All work is weather permitting. See below for traffic modifications:

Monday, August 17th - Tuesday, August 18th between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

• REVISED: Crews will close WB I-70 in the southeast corner of the downtown loop
• Crews will close 2 right lanes on northbound U.S. Route 71 from East 13th Street to East 8th Street
• Crews will close the EB I-670 ramp to US-71
• ADDITION: Crews will close the 10th and 11th St. on ramp to I-70

Tuesday, August 18th - Wednesday, August 19th between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

• Crews will conduct a partial ramp closure of the NB I-29 on ramp from Independence Avenue to NB I-29

Wednesday, August 19th - Thursday, August 20th between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

• Crews will close the shoulder of SB I-29 before the exit ramp to WB I-70
• Crews will close the shoulder of SB US-71 before the on ramp from EB I-670 (includes the ramp)

Thursday, August 20th - Friday, August 21st between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

• Crews will close the shoulder from SB US-71 before the on ramp from EB I-670 (includes ramp)
• Crews will close the exit lane from SB US-71 before the exit to East 22nd St.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can also be short-term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris form the roadway.
