NEWS: Sen. Schiff Delivers More Than $254 Million in Investments Across California

In first year in office, Schiff helped secure federal funding for key California priorities including addressing housing supply, fire recovery and preparedness, environmental conservation, and rural development

Washington, DC -Today, Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) is announcing he secured $254,457,366 in federal funding for California for the 2026 fiscal year, with the passage of recent funding bills. The Congressional Directed Spending projects bring millions of dollars in federal funding for projects in across rural, suburban, and urban communities reaching counties across the Golden state.

"I'm proud to have fought for and delivered hundreds of millions in federal investments to California in my first year in the U.S. Senate," said Senator Schiff. "This critical funding will allow projects in communities big and small to break ground and get to the last mile and it delivers on key California priorities including increasing housing supply, fire recovery and preparedness, environmental conservation, and agricultural and rural development. These investments would not be possible without the partnership of my colleague Senator Alex Padilla, our colleagues in the House, and community leaders who helped ensure that California receives the resources it deserves."

Among the investments, major projects championed by Senator Schiff include:

  • $22 million for Beale Air Force Base to build facilities in Yuba County
  • More than $54 million for the Pajaro River Flood Risk Management Project to reconstruct failing flood control levees in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties
  • $26 million for Oceanside San Luis Rey River Flood Control Project to protect levees and reduce the risk of flood damage to bridges, utilities, and the public in San Diego County

Schiff also delivered more than $12.4 million for critical projects to protect Californians from the threat of fires and to support recovery, including:

  • $2 million to improve public safety by replacing Fire Station 1 in Fountain Valley
  • More than $1.6 million to repair damage to the Charles White Park in Altadena caused by the Eaton fire
  • $1.5 million to increase firefighting capacity by opening a Project FIRE regional training center in Merced County
  • $1.2 million for the Bishop Fire Department to acquire a new ladder truck
  • $1 million for wildfire relief in Los Angeles including structural repairs and rebuilding
  • $1 million to improve public safety and fire readiness by replacing local Fire Station 81 in Los Angeles
  • $1 million for the construction of the Yosemite Community College District regional fire training center in Stanislaus County
  • $1 million to support the replacement of the Salinas Fire Department's fire training tower and upgrades to current training facilities in Monterey County
  • $850,000 to enhance public safety and fire readiness in Perris
  • $790,000 toRio Hondo Community College in Santa Fe Springs to provide funding to improve fire readiness
  • $500,000 to rebuild an Altadena community center damaged by the Eaton fire
