Town of Greig and Town of Watson - Chase Creek Trail Reroute

Public Comment Period for the Chase Creek Trail Reroute

The action involves rerouting 2,610 total feet of trail, in six separate segments, to replace segments of trail that are steep and/or follow drainage valleys, which has led to erosion and installation of gravel turnpike in forty locations along trail to alleviate trail tread issues, in the Independence River Wild Forest. Thirty-five (35) >1" DBH will be cut to clear the new rerouted trail segments.

The Project is located in the Independence River Wild Forest, in the Towns of Watson and Greig, Lewis County, New York.
