Butts County: Road Closure and Detour for a Culvert Replacement

Butts County...Norris Creek 3.2 MI SW of Jackson and @Big Sandy Creek will be closed for a culvert project

What: Road Closure on SR36 SW for Bridge Construction.

Location: SR36 Culvert Replacement @ Norris Creek 3.2 MI SW of Jackson and @Big Sandy Creek 3.8 MI SW of Jackson.

Why: Remove the existing bottomless culvert and replace it with a box culvert.

When: March 27, 2026. The detour route will utilize SR 16 to I-75SB to exit 201 for Westbound SR 36 traffic. Eastbound SR 36 Traffic will utilize I-75 NB to Exit 205 (SR 16) into Jackson. The project is slated to be open in late summer of 2026.


ADVISORY: Dates may change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones.
