China – Minister’s meeting with his counterpart, Wang Yi (3 december 2025)

M. Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, had a working dinner today with Mr Wang Yi, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of China, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.

The two ministers emphasized France and China's joint responsibility, as permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, to work to find constructive solutions to the threats hanging over the world's security and stability. They talked, among other things, about Ukraine, international crises, global economic imbalances and the upcoming French G7 presidency.

The Minister recalled the need for effective dialogue between the European Union and China to preserve international stability and multilateralism.
