WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury (NM-01) released the following statement after voting 'YES' on Congressman Thomas Massie's (KY-04) Amendment to the National Security, Department of State and Related Programs Appropriation Act:
"Our country is at a crossroads. Will we continue to allow American taxpayer dollars to fund an illegal war in the Middle East and the killing and suffering of children and civilians in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon? Or will we choose peace and human dignity?
"Today, I voted for peace and human dignity-voting 'yes' on an Amendment to the National Security funding bill that would have blocked $3.3 billion in offensive military aid to fund violence in the Middle East. As a member of the House Progressive Congress, I am proud to stand with my colleagues on this vote. No more money for endless wars."
