LPD Investigates Car vs. Pedestrian Crash | S.27th & Barnard Rd.

UPDATE (September 2, 11 a.m.) | The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Anthony Miller of Lincoln.

UPDATE (September 1, 11 a.m.) | A 37-year-old pedestrian has passed away from this accident. The victim's name will be released tomorrow pending family notifications.

On August 31, 2025, at 5:48 a.m., Lincoln Police and Lincoln Fire & Rescue responded to the area of S. 27th St. and Barnard Rd. on the report of a car vs. pedestrian crash.

Preliminary information at the scene suggests a 37-year-old pedestrian was running southbound on S.27th Street when a southbound vehicle struck the runner from behind. The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. No impairment of the driver is suspected at this time and no citations have been issued.
