UNM Alumni hosts first Lobo Living Room with 'Swiftie-nomics: The art, industry and impact of Taylor Swift'

Start the new year feeling starstruck with UNM Alumni's first Lobo Living Room of 2025 in a special program titled, "Swiftie-nomics: The art, industry and impact of Taylor Swift.'" Faculty, students, and staff are welcome to dive into the impact Taylor Swift has made with an original performance and a guest lecture.

The event takes place Thursday, Jan. 30, at 5 p.m. in George Pearl Hall at the School of Architecture and Planning on the UNM campus. Registration is available here.

UNM lecturer Maria Szasz, who teaches the course "Taylor Swift: Honors Version," will explore Swift's evolution as a 14-time Grammy-winning singer and songwriter. Szasz will also speak on the artistry and significance of her re-recorded Taylor's Versions, the staggering economic impact of the Eras Tour, and Swift's advocacy for artists, women empowerment, and the LGBTQ+ community.

With the lecture comes a Broadway-style jukebox-inspired musical by Swift's legacy and plenty of Swifties to bond with!

Whether you're a devout Swiftie or just curious about her global impact, this event will leave you inspired.
