Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs meets with Deputy Director-General and Chief Operations Officer, European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations, European Commission

On 16 October 2025, Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with Mr. Hans Das, Deputy Director-General and Chief Operations Officer of the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) of the European Commission, upon the latter's visit to Thailand and the region.

Both sides discussed humanitarian assistance and Thailand's recent policy that allows Myanmar Displaced Persons (MDPs) to work outside of the temporary shelters. They also exchanged views on transnational crime, particularly online scams and situations in the region.

The EU side commended Thailand on giving an opportunity to the MDPs to work and expressed its readiness to continue to work with Thailand on providing humanitarian assistance to those in need.
