For the first-time, Asante has announced that Asante Foundation's signature event in support of cancer care is coming to Grants Pass. In addition to the annual event held in Medford every October, the inaugural Walk for Hope at the Helen K. Spears Cancer Center will take place this year on May 30.
This event brings people together to support local cancer patients and their families, celebrate survivors and honor those who are no longer here. The day will include live music, activities for all ages, food and resources for patients and their families. All are welcome to join the one mile walk from the Three Rivers Medical Center's campus to The Family House and back. This year's finish line celebration will feature music by The Brothers Reed.
"Bringing Walk for Hope to Grants Pass is the realization of a vision years in the making. We are thrilled to be able to bring this uplifting event to our communities around Josephine County. Whether you join to walk, volunteer, fundraise or cheer from the sidelines, your presence creates hope," said Andrea Reeder, SVP and Chief Philanthropy Officer at Asante.
Walk for Hope will also return this October to the Mary and Dick Heimann Cancer Center in Medford. Last year, the fourth annual event raised more than $450,000 to support local cancer care through Asante. Since its start in 2022, the event has raised more than $800,000 to support patients, programs and services.
Team fundraising is a popular way for people to get involved locally and from afar. Community members can create and share their team here. Walk for Hope in Grants Pass will also raise critical funds in support of The Family House Expansion Project, part of the AsanteForward2030 campaign. The family house provides accommodation for cancer patients and families who must travel for care. Expanding the service means more families can stay close to Three Rivers during treatment.

About Asante Foundation: For more than 60 years, philanthropy has helped Asante provide and enhance health care for communities throughout southern Oregon and northern California. Asante Foundation, the philanthropic arm of our locally governed not-for-profit charitable health system, is a vital partner in Asante's Vision to be your trusted health partner for life - every person, every time. The Foundation surpassed its goal for AsanteForward and raised $68 million to help transform local health care. Donor support expanded outpatient cancer services, advanced surgical technologies and made possible the Olsrud Family Women's and Children's Hospital at Rogue Regional Medical Center. The momentum continues with AsanteForward2030, an expanded comprehensive campaign focused on further strengthening cardiac care, advancing inpatient medical oncology and doubling the capacity of hospitality housing in Grants Pass to better support patients and families.
