Senator Justice Highlights Rural Health Benefits from Recently Announced Rural Health Transformation Program

West Virginia is set to receive nearly $200 million after Senator Justice and Senate Republicans inserted language into the Working Families Tax Cuts Act to deliver on healthcare promises for Americans

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Following the work of Senator Justice and his Senate Republican colleagues, West Virginia is set to receive nearly $200 million through the Rural Health Transformation Program under the Working Families Tax Cuts Act. The program is set to deliver a better quality of healthcare in West Virginia and was championed by Justice and his Republican colleagues in the Senate:

"I know full and well the challenges rural hospitals face from my time as Governor, which is why I burned the midnight oil with Senate Republicans to ensure this funding would be included in our final product. Rural hospitals are the lifeblood of our communities, and I am proud to have moved this ball across the finish line because this will truly make a difference across our state. Results like this don't come easy, which is why I'll continue fighting in Washington to make life better for West Virginians," said Senator Jim Justice.

The Rural Health Transformation Program Investment allows West Virginia to:

  • Attract and maintain healthcare providers in rural areas and regions facing shortages of medical professionals.
  • Provide education on emerging technologies to enhance healthcare accessibility.
  • Create initiatives that promote new approaches to patient care.
  • Expand availability of services for substance abuse treatment and behavioral health support.
