Golden Gate Transit September 2026 Service Changes

Effective Sunday, September 13, 2026, Golden Gate Transit will make schedule adjustments to improve system efficiency. View more details and links to new timetables below.

Highlights of this service change include:

• 172X resumes. Due to high demand, express commute service between Santa Rosa and San Francisco is back.
• Reduced Friday schedules on commute routes 114, 132, 154 & 172. Check notations on new timetables carefully.
• Combined timetables for 580/580X and 172/172X on print materials only as shown here > Online timetables and maps will remain separate for these routes.

Service changes include:

Route 101
Minor schedule adjustments.

Route 114
Reduced Friday schedules. The following commute trips will no longer operate on Fridays.

Route 120
Schedule adjustments of up to 12 minutes EARLIER have been made to allow better connections with Marin Transit Routes 36 and 71.

Route 132
Reduced Friday schedules. The following commute trips will no longer operate on Fridays.

Route 154
Reduced Friday schedules. The following commute trips will no longer operate on Fridays.

Route 172
1. Two trips per direction will operate between Petaluma (E. Washington & Ellis/Johnson) and San Francisco (4^th & Folsom) only, southbound departing Petaluma at 6:32 am and 7:09 am, and northbound departing SF at 4:03 pm and 4:25 pm.

2. Reduced Friday schedules. The following commute trips will no longer operate on Fridays.

Route 172X
(timetables are now combined 172/172X)
Route resumes, operating during peak demand with service between Santa Rosa and San Francisco, with no stops served in Petaluma; two trips per direction Monday-Friday, southbound departing Santa Rosa GGT (Piner & Industrial) at 6:06 am and 6:44 am, and northbound departing San Francisco (Perry & 3^rd) at 4:07 pm and 4:37 pm.

  • Southbound trips departing at 7:09 am from Petaluma (E. Washington & Ellis) and at 7:17 am from Santa Rosa GGT (Piner & Industrial)
  • Northbound trips departing San Francisco (Perry & 3^rd ) at 3:06 pm and 4:25 pm
