Note to Editors: English and Afrikaans voicenotes from DA Leader, Geordin Hill-Lewis, are attached.
The past week, I have travelled across KwaZulu-Natal and spoken to residents, community leaders, businesses and political leaders about the future of this province.
From uMngeni to eThekwini, it is evident that more and more people in KwaZulu-Natal are choosing the DA because they want government that works.
It has been wonderful to engage these communities and to hear their determination to build a better future. The elections in many municipalities across KZN are on a knife-edge. Every vote will matter.
The choice is between instability and decline of the MK and ANC, or stable DA government that gets the basics right.
We have already shown in uMngeni what is possible when voters trust the DA with a majority. Mayor Chris Pappas and his team have built a municipality that works for everyone. What has been achieved there can be achieved in towns and cities across KwaZulu-Natal.
KZN's municipalities can be saved by servant leaders like Haniff Hoosen in eThekwini and elsewhere. But it will take every voter who wants change to turn out, vote DA, and bring their family and friends with them.
South Africa can work - for everyone. And we can start, municipality by municipality, right here in KwaZulu-Natal.
