Mayor Welch, City of St. Petersburg to Host 2026 State of the Economy on June 3

May 20, 2026 - St. Petersburg Mayor Kenneth T. Welch and his Economic Development team will host the 2026 State of the Economy on Wednesday, June 3, from 4 - 6 p.m. at The Mahaffey Theater (400 1st St. S).

The State of the Economy is a snapshot of how St. Petersburg's local economy is performing, including jobs, business growth, and overall economic trends that affect residents. It also highlights key City initiatives and strategic investments designed to strengthen economic vitality, attract new opportunities and support sustainable growth across the community.

Mayor Welch will be joined by City Council Chair Lisset Hanewicz and guest speakers Michelle Detweiler, President & CEO of Parc Center for Disabilities, and Pat Mack, Founder & CEO of PVM.
