DOYLESTOWN, PA (November 15, 2024) - Doylestown Hospital was awarded an "A"
Hospital Safety Grade for the 17th consecutive time by The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit upholding the standard of excellence in patient safety in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.
This recognition places Doylestown Hospital among just 30% of hospitals nationwide to achieve a fall 2024 "A" rating. In achieving the Leapfrog "A" since fall 2016, Doylestown Hospital is the only hospital in Pennsylvania to have done so, and is among only 59 hospitals nationwide.
"Keeping our patients safe is among our most sacred duties," said Jim Brexler, President and CEO of Doylestown Health, "Our team at Doylestown Hospital takes this responsibility to heart, and we work tirelessly to maintain the highest possible standards of care and safety, every day. We're so proud to have achieved this rating consistently through 17 cycles, a distinction we alone hold across all of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania."
The Leapfrog Group assigns an "A," "B," "C," "D" or "F" grade to general hospitals nationwide based on over 30 performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.
"Everyone who works and volunteers at Doylestown Hospital should take immense pride in this accomplishment," said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. "I commend Doylestown Hospital for your unwavering dedication to prioritizing patients which is evident in your consistent achievement of an 'A' Hospital Safety Grade for the past eight years."
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program focused exclusively on preventable medical errors, injuries and infections that can lead to harm or even death. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
