Ke Ala Hou, A New Path Forward – October 2026 Governorʻs Message

Posted on Oct 1, 2026 in Main

As Halloween approaches and the season shifts into autumn, we're reminded that even when uncertainty is in the air, our communities come together with resilience and care. We remain dedicated to the people of Hawaiʻi and to the values that have shaped our communities and families. Together we are strong. Together we continue to build toward a better future.

Amid this active hurricane season, our administration stands with communities affected across the state. We saw the resilience and strength of Hawaiʻi's people shine through from Hurricane Lala's impact on Hawaiʻi Island to Hurricane Lowell on Kauaʻi. Our administration will continue to work together with our people to rebuild and recover.

While disaster response remains a priority, our daily efforts across various areas will continue to support and strengthen our communities. Recent initiatives have improved protections and provided vital resources to those in need.

We are also focused on long-term solutions to environmental challenges, working to protect our coastlines and enhance infrastructure against future risks.

Mahalo to those who have been supporting their communities during these challenging times. I want to especially recognize those who have continued working on the front lines throughout these storms. Your tireless efforts have been essential to keeping our communities safe and prepared.

Mahalo for your continued efforts and perseverance as we serve our communities.

Sincerely,
