Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Announces Launch of New Locations in South Atlanta

ATLANTA (May 13, 2026) - Children's Hughes Spalding Primary Care Clinic has provided pediatric primary care services to children and teens in downtown Atlanta for more than 20 years, and the demand for pediatric primary care services in the community continues to grow. Today, Children's is announcing the upcoming opening of a new pediatric primary care clinic in Adamsville as well as primary care and pediatric specialty services in Union City as part of a broader long-term plan to help ensure every family in Atlanta is 30 minutes or less from a Children's facility.

"Strong pediatric care translates to stronger, healthier communities-and that truly benefits all. This expansion reflects the vision our CEO, Donna Hyland, has championed throughout her tenure and reaffirms the important commitment made by the Children's Board to ensure every child in Georgia has access to quality pediatric care," said Paul Brown, Chair, Children's Board of Trustees.

Children's Adamsville Pediatrics will deliver family-centered primary care to children ages 0 to 21. Kids will be seen by pediatricians from Hughes Spalding Primary Care Clinic who will rotate at the new practice. The Primary Care Clinic at Hughes Spalding Hospital will remain open and continue to be an important location within the Children's network.

"Children's exists to make kids better today and healthier tomorrow. This mission extends beyond our facility walls and out into the communities we serve," said Donna Hyland, CEO, Children's. "We believe it is vital to have a strong network of pediatricians in Georgia."

Children's Adamsville Pediatrics will also serve as an additional training site for medical residents, helping Children's grow its primary care residency program in collaboration with Emory University School of Medicine and Morehouse School of Medicine. This next generation of pediatricians will help care for Georgia's kids for years to come.

Located at 3571 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW, Children's Adamsville Pediatrics will begin seeing patients on June 29, 2026. Operating hours will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The new practice will deliver family-centered primary care for every stage of childhood, including:

  • Prenatal consults and newborn visits
  • Well-child checkups and immunizations
  • Sick visits for common illnesses and minor injuries
  • Care for developmental and behavioral concerns
  • Chronic condition management
  • School and sports physicals
  • Specialist referrals
  • Tests and screenings (hearing, vision, etc.)

Additionally, Grady Health System will open a new medical office building on their recently-announced campus in Union City. The medical office building will include a full floor dedicated to pediatric care provided by Children's, including primary care and behavioral and mental health services. Children's is actively working with local pediatricians to evaluate additional pediatric services needed in Union City. The facility is scheduled to open in 2028.

Children's continues to assess additional opportunities and potential locations across the region.

Children's Adamsville Pediatrics and Children's at Union City are important steps to help enhance access to Children's pediatric services in South Fulton County and Southwest Atlanta.

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Adamsville Pediatrics is a service of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Hughes Spalding Hospital which is owned by Grady Health System.
