National Grid Gas Main Replacement Project to Begin on Gorham St

National Grid Gas will improve its existing gas main infrastructure on Gorham St, from south of the Middlesex St at Gorham St intersection to just north of the Elm St at Gorham St intersection.

This work will be completed by NEUCO with National Grid oversight, and includes replacing both the existing gas main and any existing services. All required service work will be coordinated with businesses and residents.

Work will start in June with an expected completion date in early November. Work will be completed during different times of the day depending on the location on Gorham St.

Traffic flow will be maintained in all directions during construction hours, and one-way streets will be accessible. Traffic backups and delays will be monitored and may affect work hours.

June 8 - July 27: Middlesex St to Charles St | Work will be conducted during daytime hours, 7:00AM - 2:00PM

July 27 - October 12: Charles St to Elm St | Work will be conducted during nighttime hours, 9:00PM - 5:00AM

October 12 - completion: Work will be conducted during daytime hours, 7:00AM - 2:00PM

Work will be completed Monday through Friday.

Permanent paving and sidewalk restoration will be completed per the city permit requirements after the completion of work and required settlement time.
