Minister of Foreign Affairs holds discussions with Minister of Defense of Japan
On 19 December 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Koizumi Shinjiro, Minister of Defense of Japan, and reaffirmed shared commitment to upholding regional peace and stability, a rules-based international order, a free and open Indo-Pacific, and the enhancement of bilateral defense and security cooperation. Both sides also exchanged on regional developments.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs proposed upgrading the mechanism for political and security consultations between the two countries, and extended an invitation to the Japanese Minister of Defense to visit Thailand at an appropriate time. In addition, he also invited the Minister of Defense of Japan to join the Japan - Thailand Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Japanese National Diet.
