American Express Makes Executive Committee Reporting Changes

The following is a memo from Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Stephen J. Squeri that was shared in October 2026 with all American Express colleagues:

One of our greatest strengths at American Express is the depth and breadth of our leadership talent. A key part of how we support our leaders' continuous development is giving them opportunities to take on new challenges and develop expertise in different areas of the business. Just as important, the teams they lead benefit from the broader perspectives and experiences these leaders have gained driving growth and innovation across the company. With this in mind, I am making the following Executive Committee changes effective immediately:

  • Raymond Joabar, Group President, Global Commercial Services (GCS), will now lead Credit and Fraud Risk (CFR) in addition to GCS. Chief Credit Officer David Nigro will report to Raymond.
  • Anna Marrs, Group President, Global Merchant and Network Services (GMNS), will now oversee Global Servicing and Digital Labs in addition to her current responsibilities. Global Servicing President Mohammed Badi and Luke Gebb, Executive Vice President, Global Innovation, will report to Anna.

These opportunities are intended to leverage the experience and expertise of two of our most seasoned leaders and strengthen collaboration across key areas of the business.

Raymond has demonstrated exceptional leadership in advancing our business strategies and driving results across our consumer, commercial, and international organizations. His diversified experience and understanding of the customer segments we serve positions him well for this role.

Anna is a strategic leader who brings a strong external perspective and a proven ability to anticipate emerging opportunities, set a clear direction, and mobilize teams to advance the businesses she leads. Her deep experience driving growth and transformation across global organizations and fostering innovation will benefit Global Servicing and Digital Labs.

I am confident these leaders will continue to make a meaningful impact as they take on their new responsibilities. Please join me in congratulating Raymond and Anna.
