ATLANTA- Today, House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) announces updates to House committee assignments following vacancies created by the passing of the late State Representative Mandi Ballinger (R-Canton) and the recent resignation of former State Representative Marcus Wiedower (R-Winder).
Please see the updated appointments below:
State Representative Beth Camp (R-Concord) is appointed to serve as chair of the House Committee on Judiciary Juvenile.
State Representative Lauren McDonald III (R-Cumming) is appointed to serve as the chair of the House Committee on Intragovernmental Coordination.
State Representative Martin Momtahan (R-Dallas) is appointed to serve as the chair of the House Committee on Code Revision.
State Representative Bill Yearta (R-Sylvester) is appointed to serve as the chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government.
State Representative Matthew Gambill (R-Cartersville) is appointed to serve as the vice chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government.
State Representative Kasey Carpenter (R-Dalton) is appointed to serve as the vice chair of the House Appropriations Committee.
State Representative Trey Kelley (R-Cedartown) is appointed to serve as the secretary of the House Rules Committee.
State Representative Chas Cannon (R- Moultrie) is appointed to the House Appropriations Committee.
State Representative Noel Williams (R-Cordele) is appointed to the House Appropriations Committee.
State Representative Rob Clifton (R-Evans) is appointed to the House Committee on Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight.
State Representative Kimberly New (R-Villa Rica) is appointed to the House Committee on Motor Vehicles.
State Representative Carter Barrett (R-Cumming) is appointed to the House Committee on Ways and Means.
