Georgia Lawmakers to Host New Date for HOA, COA and POA Day to Advocate for Homeowner Protections at State Capitol

ATLANTA - State Representatives Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain), Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) and Sandra G. Scott (D-Rex) will host Homeowners Association (HOA), Condominium Owners Association (COA) and Property Owners Association (POA) Day at the Capitol on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 9 a.m., in room 125 of the Georgia State Capitol. This event was originally postponed due to winter weather and will now take place on February 10.

"HOA, COA and POA Day at the Capitol is about ensuring homeowners are heard," said Rep. Davis. "This rescheduled date allows us to come together safely and continue the important work of addressing transparency, accountability and fairness in association-governed communities."

"Our goal has always been meaningful participation," said Rep. Scott. "Rescheduling this event ensures that people can fully engage in thoughtful discussion about policies that directly affect their homes and communities."

"Homeowners deserve a seat at the table," said Rep. Schofield. "We look forward to welcoming constituents on February 10^th to share their experiences and help inform legislative solutions."

These lawmakers emphasized that advocacy efforts around HOA, COA and POA reform remain a priority for them during the 2026 legislative session, with ongoing discussions focused on strengthening homeowner protections and improving accountability in association-governed communities.

HOA, COA and POA Day at the Capitol seeks to bring together homeowners, residents, association members, advocates and policymakers to engage in direct dialogue on issues impacting homeownership, including due process, affordability, governance practices and consumer protections.

Attendees are encouraged to bring printed copies of their personal stories to share directly with legislators. Due to scheduling and space constraints, legislators will not be meeting with participants together in a single room, and providing written copies of these stories ensures that participants' voices are shared with decision-makers at the Capitol.
