SCO Secretary-General Extends Chinese New Year Greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping
Nurlan Yermekbayev, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, extended a message of greetings to Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, on the Chinese Spring Festival, the start of the Year of the Horse according to the lunar calendar.
It was particularly emphasized that China successfully fulfilled its duties as the SCO rotating presidency for 2024-2025. The Tianjin Summit achieved epoch-making outcomes, marking the Organization's entering into a new phase of development characterized by greater solidarity, closer cooperation, stronger dynamism and higher efficiency.
It was noted that in Chinese culture the horse symbolizes strength, enthusiasm, progress and courage. In this regard, the Secretary-General expressed confidence that in the new year China, together with other members of the SCO community and the international community, will make tireless efforts to jointly build a peaceful, secure, prosperous and clean world.
