Congressman Krishnamoorthi on the Dismissal of National Security Advisor Waltz and the Need for the Removal of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth

WASHINGTON - Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence issued the following statement on the reported removal of National Security Advisor Mike Waltz:

"The departure of National Security Advisor Mike Waltz should not distract from the real national security threat still in office: Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. Secretary Hegseth has repeatedly risked exposing classified information to our adversaries, deliberately bypassed Pentagon safeguards by installing a 'dirty line' - an unsecured internet connection - to use the Signal app on a personal device, recklessly endangering military operations and American lives. Until Secretary Hegseth is held accountable and removed from office, our national security remains at risk."
