Inseason Action #16-18 in Ocean Salmon Fisheries, North and South of Cape Falcon (Recreational & Commercial)

NOAA Fisheries has taken inseason action in the recreational and commercial salmon fishery north and south of Cape Falcon.

Inseason Action #16:

  • Effective 12:01 AM on Monday, September 1, 2025, transfer, on an impact neutral basis, 3,930 mark-selective coho salmon remaining from the quota for the recreational fishery in the area from Cape Falcon to the OR/CA border to the September recreational non-mark-selective fishery in the area from Cape Falcon to Humbug Mountain. This transfer increases the non-mark-selective coho salmon quota in the September 1, 2025, through September 30, 2025, recreational fishery from 30,000 non-mark-selective coho salmon to a revised quota of 33,930 non-mark-selective coho salmon.

Inseason Action #17:

  • Effective 12:01 AM Tuesday, September 2, 2025, the recreational fishery in the area between Queets River and Cape Alava (La Push Subarea) is closed to fishing for salmon. Possession of salmon on board a vessel is prohibited in the La Push Subarea.

Inseason Action #18

  • Effective 1:00 PM Friday, August 29, 2025 through Monday, September 15, 2025 the commercial troll fishery in the subareas between the U.S./Canada border and Leadbetter Point (Neah Bay, La Push and Westport subareas) is open Fridays through Tuesdays, closed Wednesdays and Thursdays. The landing and possession limit is 15 Chinook and 7 adipose-marked coho salmon per vessel per open period (Friday-Tuesday).
  • Effective 1:00 PM Friday, August 29, 2025 through Tuesday, September 30, 2025 the commercial troll fishery in the subarea between Leadbetter Point and Cape Falcon (Columbia River subarea) is open Fridays through Tuesdays, closed Wednesdays and Thursdays. The landing and possession limit is 15 Chinook and 7 adipose-marked coho salmon per vessel per open period (Friday-Tuesday).
