WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17), member of the House Agriculture Committee, pressed U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Rollins on the Trump Administration's failure to deliver certainty, lower costs, or any meaningful support for Illinois farmers.
"Farmers across Illinois need certainty, lower input costs, robust markets, and programs that make it easier to get support for conservation practices to ensure their operations are successful for generations. Yet instead of investing in farm country, Trump and Secretary Rollins have championed policies that drive up costs and leave our farmers behind. And today, Secretary Rollins did not have answers. Our farmers deserve better, and I will fight every day to secure a future that does right by rural America," said Congressman Eric Sorensen.
Congressman Eric Sorensen represents Illinois' 17th District in the United States House of Representatives. Prior to serving in Congress, Sorensen was a local meteorologist in Rockford and the Quad Cities for more than 20 years. His district includes Illinois' Quad Cities, Rockford, Peoria, and Bloomington-Normal.
