Placer/El Dorado Counties - Caltrans is advising motorists of the continuation of several construction projects within the Lake Tahoe basin next week.
Along State Route 28 (SR 28), construction on a $31.7 million Caltrans pavement rehabilitation project continues. The contractor for this project is Mercer Fraser Company of Eureka.
Grinding and paving operations are scheduled with one-way traffic control along SR 28 for the following dates/times and locations next week:
Electrical work is scheduled along SR 28 between the State Route 267 junction and East Agatam Avenue from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, June 22 through Thursday, June 25. Work is also scheduled Friday, June 26 from 7 a.m. until noon.
Drainage work is scheduled along SR 28 between Anderson Road and National Avenue from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, June 22 through Thursday, June 25. Work is also scheduled Friday, June 26 from 7 a.m. until noon.
Along State Route 267, crack seal operation is scheduled in the Martis Creek area with one-way traffic control in effect from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, June 22 through Thursday, June 25.
Along State Route 89 (SR 89), preparation work for a pavement rehabilitation project is scheduled with one-way traffic control in effect Sunday, June 21 through Friday, June 26 from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. between the Nevada/Placer County line and Alpine Meadows Road. Work is also scheduled Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26 from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. in the Olympic Valley area.
In El Dorado County along SR 89, paving operations are scheduled between the Alpine County line and the U.S. Highway 50 junction in Meyers from 4 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday, June 22 through Thursday, June 25.
The broadband project is part of a larger statewide effort by the California Department of Technology to bring high-speed internet into rural communities. The contractor for this project is Teichert Construction.
Utility work is scheduled with one-way traffic control in effect along SR 89 at the following locations and dates/times:
Motorists could encounter delays of up to 20 minutes due to the various construction activities. All work on road construction projects will be suspended on weekends and holidays. Schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions, equipment and material availability, or other unexpected events.
