Talk with the President #3 held (AY2024)

The third session in the Talks with the President series for AY2024, in which President NISHIO Shojiro and OU students discuss key issues, was held in the President's Office on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

Six doctoral students made presentations on the topics noted below under the theme of "How I Develop my Expertise -- What I Learn at OU and the Future Direction of my Research," having lively discussions with President Nishio while exchanging opinions on each topic.

Topics

• Defamation issues and interdisciplinary research
• History and the present, international relations history, and international public policy
• The influence of interpersonal relationships in the doctoral course and how to nurture creativity
• Data scientists pioneering the age of AI and ideal candidate profile for ever-evolving AI era
• Morphogenesis, acquiring a degree, and what is expected of a PhD holder
• Careers in academia as a researcher

Eight talk sessions are scheduled for this academic year: one session will be held each month.
