ATR and EASA work together to strengthen regional aviation safety in South Asia

Driving aviation safety across regions is a strategic priority for ATR.

From 23 to 25 June 2026, the Nepalese local authorities hosted Module 3 of the Regional Aviation Safety Programme (RASP), jointly delivered by ATR and EASA, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency under the EU-South Asia Aviation Partnership Project (EU-SA APP), in Kathmandu. For ATR, this module is another milestone in the programme, strengthening our support in South Asia and standing alongside regulators and operators as a trusted partner to drive regional flight safety.

Civil aviation authorities from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka travelled to Kathmandu to take part in the session. Alongside them, ATR operators such as Buddha Air, Yeti Airlines, Maldivian, Villa Air, Manta Air, IndiGo, Fly91, US-Bangla Airlines, Air Astra, NovoAir, Drukair and Alhindair, together with SriLankan Airlines, contributed their frontline experience and operational realities focusing on:

  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Crew Resource Management (CRM)
  • Threat & Error Management (TEM)
  • Fatigue Risk Management (FRM)

For ATR, it was an opportunity to listen closely to our customers, understand their evolving needs, and reinforce the value of our support in their daily operations. This collaborative spirit allows us to build long-term relationships and contribute to a stronger, more connected safety community.

This is how the ATR Regional Safety Plan comes to life: through local presence, regional impact, and international collaboration. Each module adds a new layer to this shared journey, and the next chapter takes place in Singapore with Module 4.
