TikTok class action accuses platform of not protecting kids, seeks damages

Linda Visser, a class actions partner at Siskinds LLP, was quoted in a Global News article reporting on the proposed class action lawsuit filed against TikTok, alleging that the video-sharing platform exposes children and teenagers to harmful content and collects their data for targeted advertising without their knowledge or consent.

She commented that the class action hopes to award compensation for people whose information was misused, and going forward, to push companies to be more transparent about what data they collect and how it will be used.
