Amazon.com, Inc. intends to expand their operations to New Kent County, Virginia at the exit 211 interchange along Interstate 64. The company plans to construct a 1 million plus square foot distribution center to serve other Amazon fulfillment centers at the New Kent City Center site.
"New Kent County staff, the Economic Development Authority and the Board of Supervisors have worked diligently over the past several years to draw major players, such as AutoZone, Target, and now Amazon, to our community. This is another major win for New Kent County business," said New Kent County Board of Supervisors Chair, Ron Stiers.
The property purchased from Matan Companies will be constructed next to the AutoZone facility at the New Kent City Center site. Amazon anticipates moving forward with the construction project this month with construction tentatively finishing sometime in late 2027.
