Sacramento - Caltrans is alerting motorists about a scheduled Tower Bridge closure for running events on Saturday.
The Tower Bridge (State Route 275) and various on- and off-ramps will be closed to motorists and waterway traffic. Closure Information: Tower Bridge, Saturday, May 9, from 5 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The events will be completed by noon.
Caltrans reminds motorists to exercise caution and avoid distractions in the area with a large number of people attending as participants, spectators and volunteers along the route of the runs.
The running events will be on Sacramento and West Sacramento streets and various bike trails to Discovery Park while using the Tower Bridge to West Sacramento and return over the Tower Bridge to finish in Old Sacramento. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and allow for extra travel time. For more information on this event, contact Adam Ray at (415) 533-1005.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to "Be Work Zone Alert" and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
