TATSUTA Electric Wire and Cable Co., Ltd. (President: Iida Kazuhiko, hereinafter "TATSUTA Electric Wire and Cable"), a group company of JX Advanced Metals Corporation (President: Hayashi Yoichi, hereinafter "JX Advanced Metals"), will make capital investments to further expand production capacity for liquid leakage detection systems used in AI data centers and other applications at its Kyoto Works (Fukuchiyama City, Kyoto Prefecture). Capacity enhancement will be implemented in phases, with production capacity expected to reach approximately 2.5 times the level at the end of 2026 by September 2027.
In its Sensor Business, TATSUTA Electric Wire and Cable manufactures and sells high-performance products, including liquid leakage detection systems, by leveraging the materials, design, and manufacturing technologies it has cultivated over many years in its wire and cable business. Sales activities and research and development for these products are conducted at the TATSUTA Technical Center (Kizugawa City, Kyoto Prefecture), while manufacturing is carried out at the Kyoto Works.
In recent years, the rapid adoption of generative AI and ongoing digital transformation have driven a global expansion in the construction of AI data centers. In AI data centers, the operation of servers equipped with large numbers of high-performance GPUs generates increasing amounts of heat, making conventional air-cooling systems alone insufficient in many cases. As a result, the adoption of cooling technologies utilizing liquid-cooling systems in data center facilities and servers has been expanding. Consequently, measures to mitigate the risk of liquid leakage within such facilities have become more important than ever, and demand for systems capable of detecting leaks at an early stage has been growing rapidly.
In August 2026, TATSUTA Electric Wire and Cable announced an expansion of production capacity for its liquid leakage detection systems1 in response to growing demand. However, demand has continued to exceed expectations. To further strengthen its stable supply structure, TATSUTA Electric Wire and Cable has decided to implement an additional production capacity expansion at its Kyoto Works. The company is also considering further investments going forward.
The JX Advanced Metals Group offers a broad range of products supporting the development of AI data centers. In addition to its core products, including sputtering targets for semiconductors and indium phosphide (InP) substrates, the Group provides various solutions such as liquid leakage detection systems. Going forward, the Group will continue to make necessary investments while accurately identifying changes in market trends and customer needs, thereby contributing to societal development through the stable supply of high-value-added products.
