Get Involved: Help Shape a More Resilient Community

Post Date: 04/21/2026

Residents, businesses, and community members are invited to participate in an upcoming workshop focused on updating the 2026 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP)-a regional effort to better prepare for risks like flooding, drought, wildfires, and extreme weather.

This plan helps guide long-term strategies to reduce disaster risks, protect our community, and position the region for important funding opportunities that support mitigation efforts.

Community input is an important part of this process. Attendees will have the opportunity to review risk assessment information, including maps and data, and share feedback to help shape how our area prepares for future hazards.

Both meetings will be held on April 22, 2026, at the Citrus Heights Event Center (6300 Fountain Square Drive):

  • 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. - Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee Meeting
  • 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. - Public Meeting

No experience is needed, and all are welcome to attend either session.
