Zama, a pioneering open-source cryptography company building state-of-the-art Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) solutions for blockchain, has launched a new entity in Zug, Switzerland.
This strategic expansion establishes Zama Switzerland as a research and innovation hub, reinforcing the company's global vision for scaling confidential Web3 infrastructure. Leveraging Switzerland's favorable regulatory environment, deep cryptographic expertise, and strong commitment to data privacy, the Zug-based arm will play a key role in R&D initiatives, partnerships, and the eventual launch of the Zama token. The move demonstrates Zama's long-term commitment to building privacy-preserving blockchain systems rooted in secure, compliant, and decentralized principles.
The expansion comes shortly after Zama SAS raised $57 million in a Series B funding round led by Pantera Capital and Blockchange Ventures. Zama also announced their new protocol, which aims to make it easier for developers to build privacy-focused applications on public blockchains. By offering tools that allow encrypted data to be processed without being exposed, Zama is addressing growing concerns around confidentiality and compliance in the blockchain space.
