Moreno Statement on Confirmation of David Toepfer as U.S. Attorney

WASHINGTON - Today, Senator Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) released the following statement after David Toepfer was confirmed as U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio:

"A native of Youngstown, David Toepfer has dedicated his life to defending the rule of law with integrity and honor, working each day to go after the most violent offenders, dismantle interstate drug trafficking organizations, and to enforce our federal immigration laws," said Senator Moreno. "Ohioans can trust that David will work tirelessly to ensure our communities are safe, our law enforcement is supported, and that all criminals are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law."

Prior to Toepfer's confirmation, the U.S. Attorney's office for Northern Ohio had been without a top federal prosecutor since January 8, 2021.
