Healthcare Access Loan Repayment (HEALR) Program Applications are Open Now!

The New York State (NYS) Department of Health Office of Health Insurance Programs (OHIP) has announced that applications are now open for the Healthcare Access Loan Repayment (HEALR) program.

The HEALR program is a Medicaid workforce initiative authorized under New York's 1115 Demonstration Waiver and is aimed at strengthening the capacity of New York's health care workforce and assisting health care professionals with their student debt.

There are two applications pathways: Individual applications are due at 11:59PM on February 15, 2026 and employer-initiated applications are due at 11:59PM on January 31, 2026.
